West Virginia Family Support & Rehabilitative Services’ Affiliate, Phoenix Rising, Launches Platform to Support Reentry Individuals in Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery for Substance Use Disorder

Solution from CHESS Health provides 24/7 peer support in Huntington, WV

Huntington, West Virginia, August 8, 2023 – CHESS Health, the leading provider of evidence-based digital health solutions for substance use disorder (SUD), announced today that Phoenix Rising, an affiliation of West Virginia Family Support & Rehabilitative Services (WVFSRS), has launched the eRecovery solution to support clients with SUD.

Individuals in treatment and recovery will now have access via their smartphones to a team of certified peer recovery digital support specialists and a robust set of tools, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  The program is especially needed in the wake of increased overdose deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic and the dramatic increase in synthetic opioid abuse.  CHESS Health’s eRecovery solution, which includes the Connections app, helps individuals reduce isolation, build confidence and adhere to a treatment and recovery plan.

“It is so important for individuals struggling with behavioral health and/or substance use disorder issues to have quick access to quality treatment. Thoughts or emotions of wanting to get better can be fleeting or short-lived,” said Tiffany Santiago, Executive Director of Operations at WVFSRS. “The quicker the accessibility is during that positive moment, the better chance an individual will continue the process of getting help, longer term.”

“It’s essential that recovery support reaches patients where they are,” said Hans Morefield, CEO of CHESS Health. “That means getting support tools like the Connections app in individuals’ hands as they leave treatment facilities, start outpatient care, or even pre-treatmentWe’re proud to partner with the team at Phoenix Rising – the perfect complement to our technology.”
