In response to the high rate of relapse among substance abuse patients, Ann Domingos, CEO of the Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse and CASA Trinity, sought to enhance traditional treatment methods with accessible tools. After learning about a new digital health app that is specifically designed for recovery, Domingos integrated the A-CHESS app into their treatment programs.

The case study focuses on one patient who in a critical moment of distress, utilized the app to connect with a peer advisor who promptly intervened, contacting emergency services and providing support until help arrived. The patient credits the app with saving his life.

This case study underscores the significance of innovative solutions like A-CHESS in bolstering support for individuals battling substance abuse, facilitating timely intervention, and improving long-term outcomes in recovery programs.

This will change things
for people who relapse
because they have
a hard time connecting.
I love it!

Ann Domingos, CEO
Council on Alcoholism
and Substance Abuse & CASA Trinity
