New Directions is offering the Connections App as an Enhancement to Everyone in Recovery for Substance Use Disorders
Innovative app from CHESS Health provides 24/7 recovery support
Cleveland, OH — CHESS Health, the leading provider of service-enabled technology supporting the addiction management and recovery lifecycle, has partnered with New Directions, an Ohio-based recovery and mental health treatment center, to use its Connections App as an enhancement for their addiction recovery services.
The CHESS platform includes a comprehensive set of digital tools and tech-enabled human support, creating patient-centered care for substance use disorders, mental health services, and social support – all easily accessible through a smartphone. Individuals will have 24/7 access in the app to a peer-moderated recovery community, and can learn about and engage with community resources in their area, such as housing and employment assistance programs.
“In our over 5-year relationship with CHESS Health we have been able to develop and provide an innovative tool for young people in recovery,” said Sue Tager, Site Director of New Directions.
“The Connections App provides a personalized 24/7/365 readily accessible way to receive ongoing support from others with lived experience as well as with trained professionals. Studies show a significant increase of treatment completion rate (2017 Case Western Reserve University study on the use of the app) and nearly 80% of clients report the app being “very helpful.” During this time of world change, it is critical to stay engaged and connected to one another. The Connections App is one more tool to support our youth seeking recovery.”
“It’s essential that recovery support reaches patients where they are,” said Hans Morefield, CEO of CHESS Health. “That means getting support tools like the Connections app in individuals’ hands as they leave treatment facilities or start outpatient care, or to reinforce their recovery plan with their provider. We’re proud to partner with the team at New Directions – the perfect complement to our technology.”
This innovative platform will allow New Directions to assist even more people struggling with susbtance use disorders and addiction in the community, while having additional support options for current clients. It reinforces the mission of always keeping people connected, never alone.
